Which fixed-line (home) Internet provider should I get in Poland?

“I need a good home internet connection” is one of the first things you think of when you move into a new flat.

Everyone has their own idea of what “good Internet” means. Today it is possible to find an optimal offer for almost every “I want”.

How is the process of Internet connection in Poland arranged?

To begin with we choose an Internet Service Provider who suits our needs. When selecting one, pay attention to the terms of the contract, the cost of the package, the list of equipment provided and, of course, the bonuses. Almost all provide a personal account, where you can view receipts for payment at any time, change the terms of the tariff (for some operators), as well as pay for services.

Additionally, many providers offer Internet+TV packages. In our review we will focus on home internet.

Please keep in mind! Almost all providers offer a “no obligation” contract for 2 years. During this time the price is fixed. But if you decide to cancel before the contract expires, you have to pay the remaining balance for the unused months.

Don’t forget about the term of the contract! If you are not happy with the Internet and its cost, but forget that the contract expires tomorrow and you continue to use it, the new price in the contract comes into effect, and it is automatically renewed for another 2 years.

Many providers have a trial period (around 10-14 days), during which you have the right to cancel the contract without paying anything extra.   After signing the contract, a technician arrives and installs everything you need.

According to our editorial team, we have compiled a shortlist of top Polish ISPs.

For your convenience we have made a table with key tariffs and conditions.

Orange Światłowód (Orange optical fiber)

If you live in Warsaw, you get another 10 PLN discount for Orange Światłowód 300 Mb/s package, for a total monthly price of 49.98 PLN. Additionally, you can lower the activation fee to 0 PLN.

Each Orange Światłowód package includes a modem. Additionally, the company offers a Smart Wi-Fi Box. This is a Wi-Fi signal booster.

Conclusion

If you need the Internet for normal day-to-day tasks, it makes sense to pay attention to the most popular provider: Orange or UPC.

If you have high demands for speed and Internet quality, or if you have several active users in your flat, VECTRA’s plan 450 or PLUS’s plan 600 might be a good option. If your friends have recently moved to Poland or already live in one of the cities, share this article with them.  Maybe they will find valuable information here.
